Joan Morgan
Occupational Therapist
Joan
has been an occupational therapist since graduating form
Colorado State University in 1987. She completed
her Master's degree in Adult Education and Technology from the
University of Wyoming. This second degree couples well
with the adult population she deals with as an occupational
therapist.
Joan's experience as an occupational therapist has been in a
variety of settings: hospital (both inpatient and outpatient),
nursing home and home health care. These settings have
allowed a wide range of interventions such as retraining for
activities of daily living, recommendation of adaptive
equipment, CVA rehabilitation, cognitive retraining, and upper
extremity rehabilitation after injury and/or surgical
intervention. Joan especially enjoys hand rehabilitation
and splinting.
Some of Joan's specialty areas are the assessment and
treatment of lymphedema (upper extremity and lower extremity),
assessment of workstations to reduce industrial injuries,
administration of Functional Capacity Assessments and evaluation
with recommendations of home environments to increase safety in
personal living spaces.
