From Basic Life Support to Prenatal Care, Ivinson Memorial Hospital is proud to offer a wide variety of education courses and events which are open to the Laramie community.

Prenatal and Postpartum Education

This free course will cover what to expect during your prena­tal care, tips for the post­par­tum period, and the basics of newborn care after discharge from the hospi­tal. Class is located at Ivin­son Memo­r­ial Hospi­tal in the Summit Confer­ence room, located on the first floor of the hospital.

breastfeeding basics

This free class is designed for preg­nant women and/​or fami­lies with newborns. It will cover how breast­feed­ing works, latch and posi­tion, when and how much to feed baby, along with the basics of breast care. This is orga­nized by Laramie’s breast­feed­ing coali­tion. Class is located at Ivin­son Memo­r­ial Hospi­tal in the Summit Confer­ence room, located on the first floor of the hospital.

Labor and Delivery

This free course will teach you and your support person about the process of labor, tech­niques to cope with labor, infor­ma­tion about anes­the­sia in labor and other possi­ble proce­dures during labor and deliv­ery. It will also cover newborn care while you are in the hospi­tal. A tour of the Family Care Unit will be included. Class is located at Ivin­son Memo­r­ial Hospi­tal in the Summit Confer­ence room, located on the first floor of the hospital.

basic life support

This course builds a foun­da­tion of life­sav­ing BLS skills, empha­siz­ing the impor­tance of contin­u­ous, high-qual­ity CPR.

advanced cardiovascular life support

ACLS Provider and ACLS Re-certi­fi­ca­tion courses. Both of these courses allow for student inter­ac­tion, hands on expe­ri­ence, and the asking of ques­tions, in a class­room and small group environment.

pediatric advanced life support

PALS Provider and PALS Re-certi­fi­ca­tion courses. Both courses allow for student inter­ac­tion, hands on expe­ri­ence, and the asking of ques­tions, in a class­room and small group environment.

AHA HeartCode Skills

AHA Heart­Code courses use a vari­ety of eLearn­ing assets such as drama­ti­za­tions, eSim­u­la­tions, anima­tions, self-directed learn­ing, and inter­ac­tive activ­i­ties to teach students knowl­edge and skills.
