Welcome Dr. Kennedy

Dr. Kennedy completed his internal medicine residency and hematology and oncology fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA before practicing in Louisiana for many years. He specializes in blood disorders, malignancies and personalized cancer care. ​“I try to convey to patients that I may be their doctor but I am human, too. I understand the importance of trust in one’s physician,” said Kennedy when describing his philosophy of care. 

The addition of Dr. Kennedy to the cancer center team in a full-time capacity will provide more consistent care for Ivinson patients. Dr. Kennedy also joins the greater UCHealth Medical Oncology team in his role at Ivinson. The continued partnership with UCHealth will provide access to research and trials, specialty referrals and access to resources within the UCHealth system. ​“Having Dr. Kennedy here not only allows us to grow our program and see more patients, but it gives patients a better sense of security knowing that their provider is on site every day,” said Amy Smith, director of the Meredith and Jeannie Ray Cancer Center. 

Dr. Kennedy is looking forward to practicing in Laramie where he can offer oncology services to a rural community. ​“I am happy to be a physician where there are no major medical centers. I want to earn the trust of patients who are able to receive services in their own town,” said Kennedy. Dr. Kennedy has climbed several 14ers and hiked a great number of trails. He and his family have visited the Rocky Mountains for downhill skiing and are excited to experience a Wyoming winter this year.
