The Behav­ioral Health Services Unit is a ten-bed, inpa­tient unit that provides acute psychi­atric care for adults and adoles­cents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

The length of stay on the unit is gener­ally 3 to 5 days. The clinic also provides a 24 hours crisis line and other forms of crisis intervention.

Ivin­son Memo­r­ial Hospital’s Behav­ioral Health Unit offers a 24-Hour Crisis Line to the commu­nity and surround­ing areas. Trained profes­sion­als moni­tor this line for many forms of crisis intervention.

If you or some­one you know is feel­ing over­whelmed, has feel­ings of hope­less­ness or despair, wants to harm oneself or others and/​or wants to kill your­self please call any of the numbers listed, or go to your local emer­gency room.

Crisis hotlines use profes­sion­als who are trained in suicide preven­tion and crisis inter­ven­tion. The profes­sional will work with the person in crisis and help them de-esca­late from crisis to a calmer state of mind.
