The Behav­ioral Health Ser­vices Unit is a ten-bed, inpa­tient unit that pro­vides acute psy­chi­atric care for adults and ado­les­cents, 24 hours a day, sev­en days a week. 

The length of stay on the unit is gen­er­al­ly 3 to 5 days. The clin­ic also pro­vides a 24 hours cri­sis line and oth­er forms of cri­sis intervention.

Ivin­son Memo­r­i­al Hos­pi­tal’s Behav­ioral Health Unit offers a 24-Hour Cri­sis Line to the com­mu­ni­ty and sur­round­ing areas. Trained pro­fes­sion­als mon­i­tor this line for many forms of cri­sis intervention.

If you or some­one you know is feel­ing over­whelmed, has feel­ings of hope­less­ness or despair, wants to harm one­self or oth­ers and/​or wants to kill your­self please call any of the num­bers list­ed, or go to your local emer­gency room.

Cri­sis hot­lines use pro­fes­sion­als who are trained in sui­cide pre­ven­tion and cri­sis inter­ven­tion. The pro­fes­sion­al will work with the per­son in cri­sis and help them de-esca­late from cri­sis to a calmer state of mind.
