Bras With A Cause “Pioneers” Support for Breast Cancer Awareness

The third annual Bras With A Cause event in Laramie will take place on October 25.

The Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative (WBCI) and Ivinson Memorial Hospital will host Bras With A Cause, a breast cancer awareness event, at the Alice Hardy Stevens Center on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 6 pm to 9 pm.

The third annual Bras With A Cause event in Laramie, is an annual Fundraiser of WBCI, a Wyoming breast cancer organization dedicated to helping Wyoming patients.

Through fundraising efforts, like Bras with a Cause, WBCI provides breast health education, financial assistance for breast cancer screenings, facilitate patient navigation and promote survivor services,” said WBCI Vice President Laurie Heath. Proceeds from fundraising efforts stay in Wyoming and help Wyoming breast cancer patients, survivors, and families.”

This year’s event will feature food from the Grazing Cowboy, drinks, a live auction and decorated bras. All bras will be highlighted on social media and WBCI’s website for one week prior to the event for online voting ($1=1 vote). The top 10 highest online winners will be live auctioned at the event. Decorated bra entries can be from individuals, organizations or businesses and cost $35 to register. The decorating theme this year is Pioneers of the West.” Each bra entry will receive one ticket to the event. Admission is $35 which includes two drink tickets with breast cancer survivors receiving a complimentary entry.

The WBCI was established in 2016 to provide statewide breast cancer detection funding and survivor services. Locally in Albany County, the WBCI has provided early detection screenings, wigs, breast prosthetics/​bras, financial and emotional support for Southeast Wyoming residents. Albany County grantees include ARK Regional Services, the Meredith and Jeannie Ray Cancer Center, Ivinson Memorial Hospital Surviving and Thriving After Cancer program, and Laramie Reproductive Health.
