Cowboy pancake breakfast 2024 16
Press Release 1 September 2026

A Sweet Start to the First UW Home Game

On the morning of UW Football’s first home game this season, Ivinson will host its annual free pancake breakfast from 9–11am in front of the hospital.

On Saturday, September 12 — the morning of the first University of Wyoming home football game this fall — Ivinson Memorial Hospital (Ivinson) will host their sixth annual Cowboy Breakfast event.

This event is a popular game-day morning stop for families, with free pancakes made fresh outdoors and eggs and sausage on the side. The season’s first football game is in the afternoon, against the University of Northern Colorado, and the hospital is expecting over 600 hungry fans for breakfast. The Ivinson team will be handing out embroidered, Wyoming-Gold pom beanie hats to the first 450 attendees, and is partnering with The Human Bean of Laramie to offer free coffee.

This event is an annual favorite among Laramie families, our UW community, and Ivinson employees,” said Ivinson Chief Human Resources Officer Sagan Wheeler. Each year the activities are a little different, but we think starting the morning with free pancakes before cheering on the cowboys is the perfect way to spend a fall day in Laramie.”

The event is organized by Ivinson’s Ambassador committee, a team of hospital employees committed to community outreach and employee vitality. Ambassador volunteers will host a free temporary-tattoo station for kids and set up yard games for families to enjoy after breakfast. This year, the event will also feature a goat petting-zoo provided by J&J’s Second Chance Holdings.

If you’re thinking of going, head to Ivinson’s West Parking Lot #4 at 255 N 30th Street in Laramie. The event is from 9 – 11am on Saturday, September 12, 2026, and be sure to wear your brown and gold!
