Press Release 19 December 2025
Urgent Care Remains In Laramie
Ivinson has reached an agreement to keep urgent care services open and locally owned by transitioning Grand Ave Urgent Care to Ivinson Urgent Care in January 2026, ensuring no disruption in care for the Laramie community.

Ivinson Memorial Hospital and Grand Ave Urgent Care announced that the two organizations have come to an agreement to keep urgent care services open and locally owned and operated by Ivinson.
On December 30, 2025, Grand Ave Urgent Care will close. The clinic will reopen on January 2, 2026 as Ivinson Urgent Care, with the same staff and providers that have cared for patients at the Grand Ave location. Patients can expect no disruption in care. Location, services, hours, providers and staff will remain the same.
Leadership of Grand Ave Urgent Care recently approached Ivinson to explore a long-term solution that would preserve urgent care access for the Laramie community and the patients who rely on Grand Ave urgent care for services. This partnership is designed to support the clinic’s sustainability while keeping care local.
“We are grateful for the work that John Jacobs has done to provide needed healthcare services in Laramie,” said Doug Faus, Ivinson’s Chief Executive Officer. “He has built a phenomenal team and has provided top-notch care since building this clinic. I am honored that he is entrusting Ivinson with carrying on his legacy and continuing to provide vital urgent care services.”
Grand Ave Urgent Care has served Laramie since 2016, caring for more than 16,000 patients each year. By assuming operation of the urgent care clinic, Ivinson has hired all clinic providers and recruited the clinic’s staff to continue doing what they do best: caring for patients. Maintaining continuity for patients and employees is a top priority for both organizations. Through this transition, Ivinson Urgent Care will convert to Epic, the hospital’s electronic health record, allowing shared records between the urgent care and other hospital services. Patients will also have access to their urgent care records through My Health Connection, Ivinson’s patient portal.
Ivinson Urgent Care will become an integrated part of Ivinson Medical Group, as its own urgent care location. Both Ivinson Urgent Care and Ivinson’s Convenient Care will continue to operate and care for patients as normal.
“Convenient Care and urgent care serve different patient needs, and both are necessary services in our community,” said Interim Vice President of Clinic Services Lonny Dobler. “Convenient Care is designed for routine, lower-acuity health concerns, while urgent care provides timely treatment for more complex, non-emergency conditions. Both play an important role in ensuring our community has access to the right level of care, at the right time.”
While much will remain the same, over the next month, patients may notice new signage, integrated records, a patient portal and a different billing office.
“Grand Ave Urgent Care is a vital service for many members of our community and losing that service was not an option either organization was willing to consider,” Faus said. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to local decision-making, local care and meeting the needs of our community.”
