WBCI Funds Boost Ivinson's Breast Cancer Prevention Efforts
Funding from the Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative (WBCI) promotes breast cancer prevention for Ivinson patients and the community.
Ivinson is proud to be one of several Wyoming programs granted funding by the Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative. WBCI is a breast cancer awareness and prevention organization that fundraises in Wyoming and invests those dollars back into patients and programs of the Cowboy State.
WBCI funding granted to the Meredith and Jeannie Ray Cancer Center is impacting patients at Ivinson, their loved ones, and the greater community to promote breast cancer prevention. Grant funding this year has been awarded to the following programs at Ivinson:
- Jeannie’s Boutique: located inside the Cancer Center providing professionally fitted prosthetics for patients who have undergone mastectomies, lumpectomies or other breast surgeries due to breast cancer. The boutique was established as the first of its kind in the State of Wyoming and was made possible through grant funding. Funding from WBCI benefits patients by providing camisoles, wigs, hats, scarves and prosthetics at no charge.
- Nurse Navigator: Ivinson’s Oncology Nurse Navigator program assists patients in navigating the difficulties patients encounter outside of the exam room. Made possible by WBCI funding, the Nurse Navigator role works to provide resources, educate and serve as a point of contact for patients and their families.
- Meredith Jeannie Ray Cancer Center Paints Laramie Pink at Laramie Jubilee Days: Look for Laramie Jubilee Days to go Pink this year in a breast cancer awareness event funded by WBCI and put on by the Cancer Center.
- Laramie’s Farmer’s Market Breast Cancer Awareness Booth.
